You can suffer an injury anywhere. It might be as a result of an accident while driving, walking, in the home or at work. It may be life threatening or less serious. And it may have resulted from the actions of a third party. As well as the physical aspects of any injury, many people also have to deal with the ongoing impact of the injury on their every day lives, for example, extensive leave from work and restrictions on movement. So the prospect of bringing a claim for personal injury can be a very stressful and daunting process. Clarke Willmott's personal injury practice is one of the largest in the South West and is ranked number one by the Legal 500 directory. Work includes dealing with claims on behalf of injured motorcyclists, claims arising from work accidents, or accidents occuring in public places, and as a result of criminal activity. We take care of all aspects of the claim and make sure that the claimant receives the best of care available. This includes taking action very quickly at the start of the claim when the injured person will commonly have an urgent need for help and assistance to get their life back to normal. They will often be faced with inconvenience and financial difficulty, and we understand the need to have some matters sorted out straight away. It also includes working within the Rehabilitation Code of Best Practice to ensure that as much medical treatment as possible is provided as early as possible, normally paid for by the party responsible for the accident. This may involve a few sessions of physiotherapy or several weeks of full time care in hospital, depending on what is required. We know the importance of securing the best possible outcome at the end of the claim, and will work with all the medical and legal experts necessary to achieve that. We do all we can in every case to ensure that the client receives all the compensation without deductions for legal or other costs and expenses. And even beyond the end of the claim, we will work with the client to ensure that as far as possible the compensation is used and/or invested to best effect. We also act on behalf of legal expenses insurers including Allianz Cornhill and The Co-Op. Many people have legal expenses insurance which has been provided, for example, together with a policy of motor or house insurance, or through a credit card or trades union or motoring organisation such as the AA or RAC. Such policies often cover the legal fees involved in bringing a claim for compensation in the event of a serious injury. You may have such a policy but be unaware of it. Your solicitor will guide and assist you in investigating whether you have this type of cover. Contact: Stephanie Nunley. |
